About the Event
Make time to play with your fabric leftovers in this 3-hour live class. Sometimes called “strings” or “crumbs”, leftover strips and chunks of fabric have a special magic all their own! Combine your scraps into something beautiful and utterly unique in this easy improvisation class. Start by making versatile patchwork units out of long strips and small crumbs. Then use what you’ve made as you construct free-spirited partial log cabin blocks around precut centers.
Take this technique as far as you want: go for a whole quilt or stop at a table runner or pillow size. All levels of experience are welcome. You will come away with a number of skills that will improve your color selection and confidence with improvisational work.
To enjoy this class you need
- an internet connected device to join the meeting
- a sewing machine and basic sewing supplies such as thread and scissors
- Fabric scraps and a larger piece of fabric or charm squares for the block centers
Registration is limited to 8 students. If you have a friend who wants to attend the class they need to purchase their own ticket, they cannot sit in with you on your class. Students will receive a detailed supply list and instructions for joining the class upon registration.
Claim your spot in the class by RSVPing. You will pay separately.
