I'm a midwife and menopause specialist who's been sewing since childhood. I've authored five quilting books, filmed bestselling online classes and designed quilt patterns and fabric. I love getting in front of a crowd.

I live in Portland, Oregon with my blended family, our rescue lab mix and a ton of houseplants. Saffron and Stars is my wellness space in Portland. In addition to my work as a midwife, I'm a Reiki master-teacher.

I've been teaching quilting for over a decade and I treasure the richness and the mystery of the creative process. I love that it's a place to refine our intuition, and an ever-renewing chance to embrace self-compassion.

In my teaching I strive to help you with the mechanics of what you are learning, and also to accompany you across the inner landscape of creation and self-discovery.
